Beautiful Abandoned Places and Ghost Towns

Abandoned places and things of the past fascinate me. Here are a selection of my favourite ghost towns and disused buildings/theme parks. Please feel free to share yours in the comments or with us on twitter @pixel_clouds!

Isn’t that one of the chief painful paradoxes of man? When with people, we long to be alone. When alone, we long to be with people. But I wouldn’t want to live in any of these places either. Contemplating them is enough.

This is my favorite. Christ, I swear I’ve dreamed of this place before. A most wholesomely satisfactory list, good show, sir, good show.

The picture of the roller coaster in the ocean is in Seaside Heights, NJ; it was part of the aftermath of hurricane Sandy. It was one of my favorite rides as a kid when we would go to visit.

There was a Six Flags in New Orleans?? It closed down the year I went, right before Katrina, and never got to open back up after because it was destroyed. It was never meant to stay closed. I went all over New Orleans. I never saw the Six Flags that year.

  • Danielle

Yeah that’s what I thought too. I thought I read people still live there a while back.
