Minimal web design is often linked to using a minimal color scheme too. We often only see subtle colored highlights; some hyperlinks in a shade of a brighter color at max. Don’t get me wrong, I really like this and often implement what I just said in my own design work. There’s definitely nothing wrong with minimal color usage or even no color at all. It all depends on the best way of communicating a certain message. Some people say using too much color makes a website busy, but who says that the usage of bright and notable colors always makes things busy or prevents clear communcation? Sometimes colors can even emphasize the message you want to convey. Here’s 15 examples of websites where the designer did an amazing job using bright colors, while keeping things clean and minimal.
