So you want to give some website feedback to a client or your internal team. How do you do it?

Providing effective feedback on websites is just not sexy these days. It’s extremely hard to make the feedback you provide specific, actionable, contextual and effective at the same time. It takes loads of time and lots of patience. Giving and receiving feedback is typically not the favorite part of any design process. That is until now. Folks over at ZURB, a 12 year old interaction design and design strategy firm with clients such as Facebook, Yahoo, eBay, NYSE, Photobucket, Zazzle got tired of running into this issue over and over again. To make it extremely easy for a team of people (including their own) to iterate through feedback on a website, they created Notable . The tool allows you to capture a website, add your feedback to the post, share the post, and iterate through that feedback with your team or client. To better understand what I’m talking about watch the video demo of the tool in action. As you can see in the video demo the tool is truly simple to use. Here is the entire workflow:
1. Capture a website with the Firefox plugin toolbutton. (you can also upload an image)

2. Add your feedback to the Visual, Code, Copy or SEO portions of the website

3. Share your feedback with the team

4. Others reply to your feedback. You iterate through feedback until you’re ready to implement the change.

As you can see the tool takes a painful and convoluted process and makes it easy and simple. I end up spending less time on communicating my ideas and more time on actually doing the work. Notable is free to use with up to 3 users. If you’d like to use it with more people there are a few paid plans which start out at $24 with a 30 day free trial. I’ll close the article with a neat example of Notable in action: ZURB deconstructing TechCrunch.
